Roshinkes mit Mandlen

A famous setting by Abraham Goldfaden (1840-1908) of an old Yiddish lullaby which has become perhaps his best-known and best-loved work. The song was rewritten (No Raisins, No Almonds) as a rallying cry in some of the Third Reich ghettos during the Nazi antisemitic atrocities. This lovely performance is by the Ukrainian soprano Netania Davrath and is taken from her album of Russian, Yiddish and Israeli folk songs.
