She was born in Israel and trace their lineage back through Australia to Odessa, Ukraine. His father was one of the founders of Neve Shalom/Wahat as-Salam (Oasis of Peace), a village in which Israeli Jews, Arabs, and Christians live together.

i HAVE THE COLUMBIA LP C.1958-SINGS ISRAELI SONGS.
TRACK ONE AT AT AND 19 SONGS IN ALL.
THANKS FOR THE BIOGRAPHICAL DETAILS
I just discovered Sharona Aron! Her music is engaging …both her voice and the guitar. Her voice is filled with peace and the soul of a people.
Hi! For years I’ve searched for anything on this singer, whose album I purchase back
when I was twenty-something. I’m now 89, and I’m thrilled to finally have found someone
who’s familiar with her songs and knows a little something about her. I remember that
one song was about a woman named Ada, who had three loves, each of which came to
a sad end. Another song started with the words “Dodi li” and may have been a campfire
song. I never really learned the words, but the rousing and/or plaintive tunes are still with
me . . .
I too was introduced to Sharona Aron in college by an Israeli grad student I knew. Her singing filled my heart with joy. I cried silently and loved it, and it made me yearn for eretz yisrael, about which I then knew absolutely nothing. Her voice is haunting and lyrical; it penetrates to the deepest regions of your soul and lodges there… she expresses so many moods, from seductive to sad and gentle to fierce. What a perfect joy to rediscover her and to be able to hear all this music again!
