Jorge del Moral Ugarte (23 December 1900 in Mexico City – 1941) was a Mexican concert pianist and songwriter.
He studied at musical institutions in Europe. In Munich, Germany, he made friends with musicians as prominent as Claudio Arrau. He obtained great renown as a concert pianist when he made several tours in different countries. In Mexico, his songs were performed by prominent singers of his time, among them Josefina Aguilar “La chacha”, Paco Santillana, Nestor Mesta Chayres, Alfonso Ortiz Tirado, María Trinidad Martínez widow of González and others. In addition to its many popular melodies, include: Do not deny that you loved me, Pierrot, Guitars and flowers, Never say, Condénala sir, Divine woman, and Why? He also wrote select and religious music and was a figure of great popularity in the third decade of the twentieth century. He is the author of the opera “Don Ramiro”, in three acts.
