Georges Moustaki  Biography

Georges Moustaki, (Giuseppe Mustacchi), French singer-songwriter (born May 3, 1934, Alexandria, Egypt—died May 23, 2013, Nice, France), composed some 300 chansons, most notably the poignant “Milord,” which was a hit in 1958 for chanteuse Edith Piaf, “Le Métèque,” and “Déclaration.” Moustaki grew up in a cosmopolitan household in Alexandria, where his Greek-born Jewish parents had settled, but in 1951 he moved to northern Europe to pursue a musical career. Within a short time he became known in Parisian nightclubs for his poetic lyrics (in more than half a dozen languages) and melancholy ballads, which were performed and recorded by many other singers, including Yves Montand, Barbara (Monique Serf), Serge Reggiani, and Piaf, with whom he had a very public love affair. Moustaki released the last of his own 45 albums in 2008. During the height of his popularity in the 1960s and ’70s, he also composed music for the movies and television.

Are there any movies or photos of max kletter? His wife’s sister was my stepmother, so I’m interested in seeing them and sharing them with his wife’s daughter.

The article says Sheb recorded his last song just 4 days before he died, but does not tell us the name of it. I be curious what it was. I’d like to hear it.
